TNTET 2023: Tamil Nadu Teacher Eligibility Test

TNTET 2023 : Teachers Recruitment Board, Tamil Nadu is the authority responsible for conducting and managing the TNTET 2023 examination. Clearing the TNTET exam is necessary in order to be appointed as a teacher in the state of Tamil Nadu. Age Limit
  1. The age of a candidate should be between 18 and 40 years.
  2. Candidates from reserved categories will get relaxations in the upper age limit as per the rules.
Educational Qualification

The educational process is different for paper – I and paper – II as explained below.

Paper – I
  1. 10+2 or equivalent examination with a minimum of 50% marks and 2 year diploma in elementary education (by whatever name it is known).
  2. 10+2 or equivalent examination with a minimum of 45% marks and 2 year diploma in elementary education in accordance with NCTE.
  3. 12th class or equivalent examination with a minimum of 50% marks and 4 years bachelor in elementary education (B.El.Ed).
  4. Bachelor’s degree with 2 Diploma in elementary education.
  5. Graduation with a minimum of 50% marks and Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.)
Paper – II
  1. Graduation with a minimum of 50% marks and passed Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.).
  2. Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 45% marks and passed Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) in accordance with NCTE.
  3. Graduation with a minimum of 50% marks and passed Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) Special Education.
TNTET 2023 Application Form

Candidates looking to apply for the TNTET 2023 need to fill and submit the application form in online mode. The application process will take place on the official website of the teachers recruitment board, Tamil Nadu.

  1. To begin the application process, aspirants are required to register on the official website.
  2. Please note that having a valid Email ID and phone number is necessary to register.
  3. After registration, all the aspirants will be able access the main application form.
  4. In the main application form, candidates need to enter their complete educational, personal, and contact details.
  5. Then, applicants have to upload the scanned images of their passport size photograph and signature.
  6. The format of the scanned images should be JPG/ JPEG/ PNG. Plus, the size of the photograph and signature should be 20 KB to 60 KB and 10 KB to 30 KB.
  7. Next, the aspirants need to pay the necessary application fee.
  8. Aspirants must take a printout of the application form for future references.
Application Fee

The application fee for the candidates of different is given below.

  1. General category: Rs. 500/-
  2. SC/ SCA/ ST and Person with Disability category: Rs. 250/-

Mode of payment : The fee can be paid online using a credit card, debit card, and internet banking. There is no option for offline payment.

The syllabus of the TNTET 2023 examination is given below.

Child Development and Pedogogy : Nature of Educational Psychology, Human Growth and Development, Cognitive Development, Social, Emotional and Moral Development, Learning, Intelligence and Creativity, Motivation and Group Dynamics, Personality and Assessment, Mental Health and Hygiene, Guidance and Counselling
  2. Tamil : Language comprehension, Speaking, Reading, Vocabulary, Language Functions
  3. English : Language comprehension, Speaking, Reading, Vocabulary, Language Functions
  4. Mathematics & Science : Number system, Measurements, Algebra, Life science, Geometry, Practical geometry
  5. Social Science : History, Geography, Civics, Economics
TNTET 2023 Admit Card
  1. After the application form submission, the board will upload the admit cards for those candidates who will submit the application form and fees before the last date.
  2. Aspirants will be able to download their admit cards from the official website.
  3. It is important to provide the user ID and password generated during registration in order to download the admit card.
  4. The information like date, time and venue of the exam will be mentioned on the admit card.
  5. No candidate will be allowed to enter the examination hall without an admit card.
TNTET 2023 Result
  1. Soon after conducting the result, the board will make the result available through the official website.
  2. The link to check the result will be available on the home of the official website itself.
  3. To check their result, candidates have to enter their roll number.
  4. Those candidates who will score more than cut off marks will be declared successful.
  5. The cutoff marks for the candidates of different categories are given below.
    1. General: 60% i.e. 90 out of 150
    2. BC, BC(M), MBC/ DNC: 55% i.e. 82.5 out of 150
    3. SC, SC (A), ST: 55% i.e. 82.5 out of 150

Question - 1 : Will I get the job of a teacher after clearing the TNTET 2023 exam ?

Answer : No, you will get a certificate after clearing the TNTET 2023 exam. This certificate will make you eligible to apply for the post of teachers in the state.

Question - 2 : Is it to appear in both paper - I and paper - II of the TNTET exam ?

Answer : No, you can appear in either of the papers. Candidates who are looking for class 1 to 5 school teacher should apply for paper - I. Those who want to be a teacher of class 6th to 8th can apply for Paper - II. Interested and eligible candidates can also apply for both the paper.

Question - 3 : Can I apply for the TNTET 2023 exam in offline mode ?

Answer : No, the board will not accept the application form in offline mode.

Question - 5 : I am not satisfied with my TNTET 2023 score. Can I apply for rechecking or re-counting ?

Answer : The OMR sheets of the TNTET exams are checked using machines. That’s why there will not be any re-checking or re-evaluation. Any request for the same will not be entertained.
