Railway Recruitment Board will soon release the 2021 notification. RRB has released the RRB ALP Notification 2018. Notification is out for 64,371 vacancies to recruit for the posts of Assistant Loco Pilot & Technicians. Interested and eligible candidates can apply online from 03/02/2018 to 05/03/2018. A candidate must be either –

  1. a Citizen of India or
  2. a subject of Nepal or

  5. People of Indian Origin migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Afganistan, Kenya, Tanzania, Sri Lanka, Uganda, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, and Vietnam.

  3. After registering, candidates may log in & apply using the generated registration number and password.

RRB ALP Syllabus & Exam Pattern 2021 :

Aspirants preparing for the RRB ALP Exam should be aware of the updated exam pattern before starting their preparation. So candidates are advised to refer the RRB ALP exam syllabus & pattern before viewing the syllabus. We have also listed the selection process of RRB ALP Exam 2021.

Selection Procedure :

RRB ALP Exam selection involves 4 steps as follows.

  1. Computer-Based Exam (1st Stage)
  2. Computer-Based Exam (2nd Stage)
  3. CBAT (Computer-Based Aptitude Test) (for ALP)
  4. Document Verification
RRB ALP Exam Pattern : CBT Stage 1

The online examination comprises of two stages stage-I and stage-II. The CBT 1st stage will be a common exam for ALP/Technician whereas the CBT 2nd stage will be conducted only for ALP Exam.

  1. The Questions will be of objective type with multiple choices.

CBT Stage 1 : Syllabus
a. Mathematics :

Number systems, BODMAS, Decimals, Fractions, LCM and HCF, Ratio and Proportion, Percentages, Mensuration, Time and Work, Time and Distance, Simple and Compound Interest, Profit and Loss, Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, Elementary Statistics, Square Root, Age Calculations, Calendar & Clock, Pipes & Cistern.

b. General Intelligence and Reasoning :

Analogies, Alphabetical and Number Series, Coding and Decoding, Mathematical operations, Relationships, Syllogism, Jum-bling, Venn Diagram, Data Interpretation and Sufficiency, Conclusions and Decision Making, Similarities and Differences, Analytical reasoning, Classification, Directions, Statement – Arguments and Assumptions etc.

c. General Awareness :

Science & Technology, Sports, Culture, Personalities, Economics, Politics and other subjects of importance.

d. General Science :

Physics, Chemistry and Life Sciences (up to 10th Standard CBSE syllabus).

RRB  Exam Pattern : CBT Stage 2
CBT Stage 2 : Exam Pattern

Candidates will be shortlisted for CBT stage 2 based on the scores secured in CBT Stage 1. The Second Stage CBT shall have two parts viz Part A and Part B.

The broad topics that are covered under this shall be Engineering Drawing (Projections, Views, Drawing Instruments, Lines, Geometric figures, Symbolic Representation), Units, Measurements, Mass Weight and Density, Work Power and Energy, Speed and Velocity, Heat and Temperature, Basic Electricity, Levers and Simple Machines, Occupational Safety and Health, Environment Education, IT Literacy etc.

CBT Stage 2 : Syllabus (Part B)

This Part will have questions from the relevant trade. Candidates will be required to appear in the section having questions from the relevant trade.

Computer Based Aptitude Test (CBAT) :

The Computer Based Aptitude Test will be conducted only for candidates who have opted for for ALP.

  1. Candidates will have to qualify in each of the test battery of Computer Based AT for considering them for the post of ALP.
  2. There will be no negative marking in CBAT.
  3. The CBAT questions and answer options will be only in English and Hindi.
Document Verification (DV) :

Based on the performance of candidates in Part Aof the Second Stage CBT subject to their qualifying the Part B of Second Stage CBT (For Technician posts) and based on the performance of candidates in both Part A of the Second Stage CBT and Computer Based AT subject to their qualifying the Part B of Second Stage CBT (For ALP), candidates equal to the number of vacancies will be called for Document Verification. Selected candidates will undergo a Medical Fitness Test to be conducted by the Railway Administration. Candidates who clear the medical test will be appointed for the posts.
